Poor Harvests
By the late 1780's, France was already experiencing poor harvests. As a result, our food prices were instantly sent soaring--after all, with no grain or wheat, we could not make bread--and since we already had little to no money to spend on food with the burden of taxes, it starved us even more and brought an increased amount of hunger to our Third Estate. By then, not only were we poor or broke, but we were also dying of starvation, but the rich continued to eat until they couldn't stuff in another bite!
